Now I know this isn’t exactly a 2015 Toyota Supra, however it is Supra related and with Toyota setting a world record I think this post / video deserves a spot on here. A Supra Mark IV set a new speed record recently, when it ran a quarter-mile in below seven seconds… and broke the 240 mph barrier. The EKanooRacing 2JZ GT86 set the GCC Super-Street 1/4-mile record at the 2014/2015 Bahrain National Drag Racing Championship at the Bahrain International Circuit… with a time of 6.05 seconds, speeding at 240 mph.
Details about what’s under the hood is unknown, but the EKanoo team says it has a 2jz motor with 98 precision turbo that is mated to a 5-speed liberty transmission.

The title doesn’t matter, though, the run does. It’s incredible. This not-so-little Supra that’s probably barely a Supra anymore was built by EKanoo Racing, and managed to blast through the drag sprint in 6.05 seconds, at 240mph.
To repeat, just over six seconds, at 240mph. It was set at the 2014/2015 Bahrain National Drag Racing Championship, in a car still sporting the classic Supra ‘2JZ’ straight-six engine. Presumably packing a turbocharger the size of Venus.
